Color of the Year

Updated: Jan 22, 2019

First and foremost, we – the designers at Le Blue Goose – would like to welcome you to our new blog, “THE CREATIVE NICHE!” We are excited to have a place designated to covering the latest in design topics, questions, concerns, and trends. To begin this new chapter in our history, and in order to welcome in 2018, today we’ll be talking about the color of the year: Ultraviolet.

As designers, color is vitally important to the design process. It sets the tone and mood for a particular space and for conveying a specific feeling. One of the most frequently asked questions we receive from clients is, “What color(s) should we choose?” This year Ultraviolet, a blue-based purple, will dominate many design trends. This distinctive color will give any room a sense of inventiveness, imagination, and mindfulness, along with a strikingly artistic touch. With its’ soothing, creative, and playful nature, it’s a great choice for spaces like offices, bedrooms, or multipurpose rooms. Keep in mind painting is not the only application for this unconventional color; it may also be used as an accent in fabric selections for pillows, drapery, area rugs, and more.

Laurie Press, the Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute said, “The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.” We cannot agree more!

Designing unique spaces that embrace our client’s individuality and style is at the heart of every space we help create. This particular color embodies mystery, fun, and excitement, so if you’ve been driving yourself crazy thinking about fixing up that den or freshening up your bedroom, consider the magical Pantone color: Ultraviolet.

To stay up to date, please make sure to check back every Friday for our next blog post. We would love to hear your thoughts, questions, and comments. And, if this post was helpful in any way, please feel free to share it with someone you know.

Thanks so much, and may all your design dreams come true!
